As an Ophthalmology Specialist office, we only bill medical insurance. This can be confusing for patients seeking eye care using their vision insurance, as medical insurances will often deny routine vision checks. We recommend patients needing only routine vision checks or updated glasses and contact lens prescriptions to see their local Optometrist first, who accepts their vision insurance.

In the case that a routine vision check shows any signs of a possible medical condition with your eye(s), a more thorough eye exam is deemed medically necessary and Medical Insurance will be used for your exam and treatment with Dr. Benson Chen here at Washington Eye Care.
